Primary Function:
Manage subcontract machining estimates and scope execution

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the sales department and machine shop management to develop subcontract machining supply chain.
• Develop and maintain relationships with machining subcontractors.
• Work with subcontractors to accurately estimate machining RFQ’s in terms of time required and scope of work. Work closely with the project team in each business unit to determining priorities, outsourcing possibilities and “best” cost alternatives
• Work with machining subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle to ensure scope is executed on time and to specification
• Participate in pre-bid, pre-job, kickoff, status and close out meetings to review estimates.
• Must have an understanding of available tooling, knowledge of speeds/feeds, set ups and the ability to create an efficient and successful strategy for machining the part within tolerance.
• Some travel to subcontractors facilities will be required to provide oversight and check status of ongoing subcontracts
• Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and able to learn other programs as necessary.
• Initiative, self-motivation and the ability to work within a team environment is a must in order to contribute to the success of achieving a shared goal.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
2 years estimating experience with 5 years machining background in a CNC and Manual job shop environment.

Strong working knowledge of MasterCam programming system is a plus.

Preferred two or more years of experience in the area of metal fabrication, DOE/DOD, and/or food and mineral industries.

Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a very dynamic environment – must have flexibility with an ability to focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
