Machine Shop Drive/Helper

The Machine Shop Driver/Helper is responsible for loading/unloading items on the flatbed truck for pickup/delivery in and around the Port Allen area.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to load/secure/unload small and large items on a truck
• Drive/back/park one-ton truck with flatbed trailer
• Pickup and Delivery in and around the Deer Park/Port Arthur/Vidor area
• Shop Clean up (empty metal shavings, sweeps and cleans the machine shop)
• Operate power equipment
• Operate forklift
• Provide professional interaction with customers
• Ability to learn basic knowledge of operation of a machine shop
• Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; overtime and weekends as needed.
• Other duties as required

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged standing, bending and lifting
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Must be able to tolerate hot/cold temperatures when performing jobs outside of a heated/air-conditioned environment
• Safety Sensitive positive, momentary loss of concentration can cause serious injury or death

Education/Experience/Skills:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Driver's License
• Delivery driver: 1 year (Preferred)
• Commercial driving: 1 year (Preferred)
• Ability to communicate clearly and work well with a team
• Read and Write English
• Dependable and Exceptional Attendance

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Climate controlled shop.
• Pinching hazards.
• Requires ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, stand for prolonged periods, push/pull, twist, stoop, squat, lift, climb.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Employment is contingent on passing drug test, must be able to lift 50 lbs.
