The Department Assistant provides information to callers and visitors and/or redirects them to the appropriate person or department.

The Department Assistant responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Answers the telephone and operates the computer
• Provides patient information, department location/directions, conference room meeting times/location, special event information, and other information IPSI Physician Billing:
• Sorts and distributes daily mail to appropriate areas
• Scans documents into IDX
• Prepares bank batches to be scanned and processes credit card payments to the bank

T he Department Assistant reports to designated Manager or Director.

IPSI: The Department Assistant reports to the Operations Manager Physicians Billing Services.
