The position
Within the Estimating and Engineering department at Van Oord we are looking for an enthusiastic CAD Engineer to support our tenders and projects on the Dutch market. Van Oord works on civil projects such as dyke reinforcements, earthmoving of large infrastructure projects, the construction of ports and waterways, and the maintenance of our coastline, but also small coastal and bank works. The work is carried out from the project locations or the Van Oord head office in Rotterdam. Working from home is an option with the approval of all parties.
Your responsibilities
As a member of the tender or project team you are responsible for:
  • Making terrain models;
  • Design 3D modeling according to specifications;
  • Manufacture of 2D design and implementation drawings;
  • Determine quantities for the different phases of the work;
  • Manufacture of method drawings.
Next to that you bring the following competences:
  • Accuracy;
  • An eye for details;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Learning ability;
  • Teamplayer and able to work independently as well.
Job requirements
  • At least 2 years of work experience with civil engineering works;
  • MBO training in construction and technology;
  • Excellent command of the Dutch language in reading as well as in writing is mandatory;
  • Good command of the English language in reading as well as in writing;
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Autocad & Civil 3D;
  • Experience with 2D and 3D drawings in civil engineering;
  • Affinity with IT;
  • A passionate and accurate colleague with excellent communication and social skills;
  • Knowledge of BIM, graphic design, programming or GIS are an advantage.
