POSITION: Education Coordinator *2 positions (1 Keller, 1 Nespelem)
SALARY: $17.00 - $24.00, per hour
REPORTS TO: Program Director
LOCATION: Boys & Girls Club, Keller, WA
Basic Functions: Education Coordinator will assist the Keller Boys & Girls Club with the possibility of assisting the
Inchelium and Nespelem Clubs in providing additional academic and social/emotional learning. Will also set up athletic activities for the club. The Education Coordinator will work one-on-one with youth and help staff oversee small group tutoring activities, and to assist our Unit Director with follow up activities with the Keller, Wilbur/Creston and Republic School staff. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- Applicants must have a positive attitude and desire to work with kids. Experience in youth development and recreation is a plus. CPR & First Aid certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire date. All applicants must pass a criminal background check and drug test before date of hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Provide a fun, positive, and safe atmosphere for all Club members, staff, and guests.
- Supervise/tutor one-on-one, small groups, and large groups of youth from ages 5-15.
- Provide homework assistance to Club Members.
- Assist the Unit Director with planning and implementation of the AIM Grant.
- Provides behavioral guidance services to Club Members.
- Others duties as assigned by Unit Director.
- Collaboration with Club staff and volunteers to execute daily programs and activities.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
