Come on into an iconic former bank building where offices and ATMs have made way for a brand-new hotel. First impression? 204 elegantly furnished rooms, 7 floors and a warm welcome from your future team. Inside voco The Hague you will find cocktail bar Ultramarijn. This is where you’ll be staying.

Designed like a steampunk adventure inside the city of The Hague, we welcome you to our Captain's home. This gastropub is soaked in dark lighting, never ending waves of music, shimmering ambiance and mixologists who seemingly never stop moving. With a menu inspired by the directions of the wind - guests from all ends of the world can come together to enjoy new cocktail and coffee tastes. Together with the crew you will be updating the menu which goes beyond coffee and includes signature hot chocolates, great spirits, and comforting dishes. Apart from creating fantastic coffee you know that a guest’s experience will only be memorable with the addition of a personal touch and an unbeatable smile.

Ready to land this job?

• Set the tone for each guest’s experience with a warm welcome. Be enthusiastic and approachable.
• Provide service to guests according to the standard operating procedures.
• Create unique coffee presentations and “insta worthy” latte art.
• Keep an eye out on a clean environment and a well-equipped bar to deliver the best service possible.
• Follow steps and procedures to create specified drinks ordered by guests. This includes proper espresso dosing and distribution for in drink recipes.
• Get creative with the other Bartenders to produce a menu that implements current trends and local products.
• Expand your knowledge of local suppliers that meet the Ultramarijn concept.
• Have knowledge of food & drink pairing and stay up-to date with well-known international drinks.
• Collaborate with your colleagues in other departments to ensure guests always get what they are looking for before they even know it.
• Taking care of appropriate allocation of sales, including card payments, cash payments, and room charges.
• Live Ultramarijn, Botanica and the voco™ brand with pride, passion & energy. Create & inspire others to deliver memorable branded guest experiences.
• Raise awareness for voco® The Hague, Ultramarijn & Botanica in the local community.
• Promote teamwork and lifestyle service through daily communication and coordination with other teams.
• Ad-hoc duties as required – unexpected moments when we have to pull together as a team to get a task done.

Did you bring everything?

• Passion for hospitality.
• Experience in a F&B operations and administration role within a hotel or restaurant.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Pro-active attitude and eye for detail with a natural drive for continuous improvement.
• A naturally outgoing and friendly personality with a passion for service excellence to consistently deliver and demonstrate voco™ service standards to our voco™ guests.
• A true “team-player” mentality and flexible attitude towards a diverse set of tasks.
• Excellent communication skills in English and preferably also in Dutch. Another language is always a plus.
