Primary Purpose:

• To maintain student attendance records and to serve as secretary for assistant principal(s).

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution (required)

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• General Clerical Skills and Experience
• Good Telephone and Interpersonal Communication Skills
• Computer Knowledge/Experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Specific Responsibilities and Duties:

• Maintains attendance records on the mainframe computer.
  • Enters absentees and tardies by period.
  • Updates computer from call-in list.
• Monitors absences.
  • Calls parents of absent students who have not been cleared.
  • Reports any attendance problems to assistant principal(s).
  • At end of day, prints/types updated Unexcused Absence summary and distributes to all teachers.
  • Prepares attendance reports.
  • Processes, verifies, and distributes attendance violation letters.
  • Writes passes and admits students.
• Serves as secretary to assistant principal(s).
  • Receives telephone calls and takes messages as needed.
  • Schedules teacher/parent conferences as needed.
  • Performs general clerical duties, such as filing, typing letters, etc.
• Supervises office aides.

Shared Responsibilities and Duties:

(May vary with school situation.)

• Assists Receptionist with calls and visitors.
• Assists Data Clerk when necessary.
• Assists in Clinic in absence of nurse or clinic assistant.

Performs other duties as assigned.
