Associate Veterinarian Position, Riverview, FL
Job description
We are seeking a compassionate, team-oriented, and effective communicator to join our team as a full-time veterinarian at our well-established, progressive, and state-of-the-art animal hospital in Riverview, FL. Although experience is preferred, new graduates seeking mentorship are encouraged to apply.
Our animal hospital offers comprehensive care to our patients, including preventative care, surgery, dentistry, cold laser therapy, in-house diagnostics, digital radiology, medical and vacation boarding, and grooming services. Our location in Riverview offers access to Tampa and Sarasota and proximity to attractions like Busch Gardens, Florida Aquarium and Zoo Tampa, beaches, boating, Ybor City downtown scene, and more. Our public schools are excellent, making it an ideal area for families.
Key Duties
- Examining pets to diagnose various illnesses, diseases, and injuries.
- Treating pets by prescribing appropriate medications, cleaning and dressing wounds, and performing surgeries and other medical procedures.
- Collecting samples of pets' blood, urine, and feces as required.
- Operating radiographic and ultrasound equipment to conduct further diagnostic testing.
- Euthanizing pets in cases where medical treatment is, or would be, ineffective.
- Spaying and neutering pets.
- Advising pet owners on proper aftercare following surgeries and medical procedures.
- Updating pet records following each treatment and medical procedure.

Key Skills, Qualifications and Client Requirements
The qualifications for this position include a Doctor of Veterinary degree or equivalent from an accredited university, an active veterinary state license, and a current DEA license or obtaining one upon hire. USDA accreditation is preferred but not required.
