Job Description:
Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for an Attorney to join our Legal team.

This Attorney will represent the Company and provide legal counsel in the following categories of work, as well as other areas as needed and assigned:
  • Securities reporting and compliance, registered and exempt offerings of debt and equity securities, corporate finance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, compliance reviews, investor relations, corporate communications, and related matters

REQUIRED SKILLS
Knowledge of:
  • Laws in applicable area of expertise
  • Must possess general familiarity with other areas of law within scope of responsibility and where appropriate
  • Sufficient knowledge of the business to be able to reconcile potentially conflicting legal needs and business objectives
Skills in:
  • N/A
Ability to:
  • Read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents
  • Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
  • Juris Doctorate degree and relevant experience in a law firm, large corporate legal department, and/or with the government
Experience:
  • Associate – Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a relevant specialty including 1 year of experience practicing law
  • Corporate – Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law
  • Senior – Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing law
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Current membership in a State Bar, and the ability to become licensed to practice law in Idaho within a reasonable time
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people. There may be occasional lifts of no more than 10 lbs. The above is a summary of the primary essential functions of the position. This job may require the performance of additional tasks assigned by company leaders or management.
