Middle River Aerostructure Systems is a world-leading manufacturer of thrust reversers (the braking system on a jet engine), engine nacelle components and specialized aerostructures. It supplies and supports these products for engine makers, airplane manufacturers and aircraft operators. Located on Maryland's Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore, MRAS has a 1.7-million sq. ft. facility situated on 180 acres – where the company and its predecessors have designed, built and equipped civil and military aircraft for over 90 years. In 2019, MRAS was acquired by ST Engineering North America, the U.S. affiliate of Singapore-based ST Engineering – becoming a part of its global network of aerospace facilities and offices. With the ownership change, the company was renamed Middle River Aerostructure Systems.
Summary
The Aerospace Engineer will assist with repair development and approval. The Lead Aerospace Engineer will support technical service requirements, tooling and procedures for MRAS MRO work scopes. The Aerospace Engineer will work directly with MRO Technicians in support of their tooling and documentation needs. The MRO Engineer will work to keep the MRO compliant to the FAR 145 regulations.
Essential Responsibilities
As the Aerospace Engineer, you will:
- Work with the internal team, partners and suppliers to resolve issues and support our customers
- Support investigations for any issues related to MRAS repairs
- Assist with Ground Support equipment development and product maintenance planning services which may include work away from station MRO work
- Assist the internal team to maintain project cost & schedule requirements
- Support the business as needed and as issues arise during inhouse or work away from station MRO work
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, from an accredited college or university, or A/P License, or equivalent Aviation MRO work experience is required
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an Aviation Maintenance support position
Desired Characteristics
- 5+ years of experience in aviation related engineering (FAR 43 / FAR 145) and/or technical customer support experience is preferred
- Aviation MRO Experience is preferred

- In-depth understanding of nacelle hardware and engineering technology and tools
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
